Today I called the dr for a lot of cramping. They said because I am so early to go in and be monitored. I called and went in because I was already down the hill. Didn't want to go home just to turn around and head back down.
So they hooked me up. Nothings really happening. A couple small contractions but it took them forever to find them. They were down low but when I first got there that's not where they put the monitor. The cramping slowed down a lot while I was here. But I had been feeling it since 7 this morning. Baby is moving a ton and his hb is good. My bp was 111/76 which is good.
The nurse told me to relax and limit activity for the next few days. Lay on my left side and see if it persists.
I have an appt Wednesday next week with the Dr as well.

Ok so I did the ultrasound first. He is so stinking cute. He is already 4 pounds 11 ounces and in the 50th percentile. He is measuring a couple days small but that's not uncommon. His first HB check was 119 bpm but then he got really active and it was 144 bpm. My weight was 190 and bp was 130/73. The baby is still head down and right on my cervix cuddled up to my placenta. He was also putting his hands and fingers in his mouth. So cute.
Ok so he isn't worried about my girl parts swelling because its just me starting to retain water. He said the contractions are ok. I need to call if they get too strong to handle, or 5 minutes apart for an hour. As for the babies weight he estimates he will be about 8 pounds. .
So that's it I think. I come back on the 30th.

So I think I might be having contractions. Laura said they are the Braxton hicks, but I am not sure. Im sitting down and not doing anything, and will watch them. If they get strong or close I will call the dr. Otherwise I will talk to the dr about it tomorrow.
I didn’t think they were Braxton hicks because those aren’t supposed to hurt. These do. They startle me too. And after everyone one, the baby kicks. It’s just weird. They are in my lower stomach and my back. They aren’t going right now but were just 20 minutes.
Anyway it’s just my update. Im going to drink some more water and just chill (not that I have been doing anything).

After a little research this is what I found in terms of the 3 hour glucose testing results.
Fasting Blood Glucose
From 70 to 99 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.5 mmol/L) - Normal fasting glucose
From 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) - Impaired fasting glucose(pre-diabetes)
126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L) and above - Diabetes
Gestational Diabetes Diagnostic: OGTT
Target LEVEL
Fasting* 95 mg/dL (5.3 mmol/L)
1 hour after glucose load 180 mg/dL (10.0 mmol/L)
2 hours after glucose load 155 mg/dL (8.6 mmol/L)
3 hours after glucose load 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L)
INDICATION: If two or more values meet or exceed the target level, gestational diabetes is diagnosed.

I called my dr office in hopes that they would have my 3 hour glucose test results. i never got the call when i failed the 1 hour, so I assumed it was up to me to get answers.
So I sat on hold for awhile, and finally got in touch with someone, then had to leave a message.
The nurse just called me back, and I passed, thank goodness. I don't know what the numbers should be, but this is what I got.
Fasting - 75
1 hour - 166
2 hour - 182
3 hour - 133
Its odd to me that my 1 hour is 166 but when I took the 1 hour test the first time, I was at 143.
Again, not sure where the numbers should be, but she said I passed.

So this morning I went in and took my 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Not nearly as bad as everyone made it seem. I took a few magazines (baby ones of course) to keep me busy along with a book. The phlebotomist that took the first draw was awesome and I never felt it. I made sure to let her know too. I was given the lemon lime drink again this time, and told I had 5 minutes to complete it. I downed it in less then 1 minute and she was pretty impressed. Then I started reading my book, but I was really tired. So I just sat there and closed m eyes for a few. The second draw stung a tad but needles don't really bother me, so it was fine. Continued reading my books but doing just fine with it all. The next blood draw I got the first phlebotomist again, but she said the last one blew the vein in my arm. So she had to draw from my hand. Again, not bad at all. It tingled a little a few minutes later but not bad. The last draw came quickly because a nice woman and I were chatting in the waiting room for awhile. I got the nice lady again and she used my hand again.
All in all it wasn't too bad one bit. I ate a salad for dinner last night (keeping my sugars down) and went in at 8:40 this morning.
After the test I ran across the street to run in Ross. And of course I spent a little money.
So now I am sitting here ordering some papa johns (deserved after not eating for 17 ½ hours), I am light headed, broke out in a sweat, and very weak feeling. When I started typing this I noticed my hands are really shaky too. I feel like my blood pressure has drastically dropped, but it could be from the low sugar too. I’m decided to eat something real quick, but holy smokes it’s such an uncomfortable feeling all of a sudden. It feels like the first time I gave blood, or when I was dehydrated in basic training.
So I ate two granola bars and my camelbak of water (24 oz) and feel a tiny bit better but still a little off.
Gonna chill on the couch until my pizza gets here.

Today, I was a very lucky woman. I set up a free photoshoot with a local photographer (who is amazing by the way) and the reason it was free was she recorded the photoshoot for training material at TAoPaN http://www.taopanmag.com/. THe photographer, Ana Brandt was so much fun to work with, and very great explaining everything. She knew I was a photographer since I found her on a photography board we are both members of.
I was a little nervous at first, I always struggle when I first meet people, but the photographer and assistants were very welcoming and helped me to loosen up a bit. I can't wait to see the videos and the video footage, and I think she wil do an amazing job on them. I have never been to a true photo studio. Olan Mills was as fancy as it got when we were kids.
Ill be sure to share the photos when she is all finished with them.
