Oh boy

He is trying to walk. Today he stood up holding this short basket we store toys it, Its no more then maybe 9 inches tall. Then he let go and stood all the way up on his own for about 4-5 seconds. Then later this evening he did it again on the couch holding Tims leg, but didn't stay up because he was on the couch. He is going to be walking - that kills me.
My crown came loose yesterday and I called in - they didn't have anyone to fix it but told me to use Vaseline of fixadent to keep it in. It just fell out, and I am leaving it out while I sleep. I go in Monday to find out if my back tooth was saved with the root canal or if I need to have i extracted. Then I go to get my permanents on the 7th.

Family Date Night

We don't go out a whole lot due to Tim working 60+ hours a week on top of going to school But tonight Tim surprised me when he offered to take me to dinner. We went to Applebees and Leiland did wonderful (even tasted a pickle) then we went to office max to pick up some office supplies. Weird yes but I love stuff like that. It was nice to go out with my hubby for a change and to not have to cook. I love my boys.

Miserable baby

Leiland has been miserable all day. He didn't sleep well which never help but is horrible when sick. His nose is raw despite my attempt to use boogie wipes with saline. When we took a shower i noticed his chin too was raw, as well as his knees from crawling. Then i took off another poopy diaper and his little bum is so raw. So we soaked in a steam shower, lathered his bum in more desitin max, and smothered his face with some carmex.  Hopefully he looks better in the morning. I think he is teething because he is biting everything bad and sometimes just cries out of nowhere.

My poor boy is so beat up. Hes is miserable and i just want to make ut all better.

My dental issues

I have always had issues with bad teeth - many cavities, and well it sucks. Then when we were no longer military and joined L3, I wasn't great about getting into the dentist. I finally did, and holy crap I have a ton of work. I used all my dental last year on a root canal and 3 crowns I think. Now I have another root canal and 4 crowns. When I had the root canal done last week, he wasn't able to clean the roots completely. He said they were S shaped and connected. Kills me because they told me that if I still have pain then I may need to have the tooth extracted and have an implant. That blow. He also mentioned that the tooth beside it might need a root canal as well (when the dentist thought it only needed a crown). When he was checking my teeth that one responded worse than the one I was in to have the root canal on. This BLOWS. So I am at the inbetween time between the root canal and getting my permanent crowns put on so I have to chew on my left side where I need two other crowns. Never noticed that side hurting before, but now I am chewing there - yeah those hurt too. One is cracked and one is broke. This weekend I also had my crowns fall off, so I went in Monday to have them put on. They used extra strong cement to secure them and pushed back my appt for the permanents. Well they fell off again that night. What the crap? So I am going back today to have them put back on yet again. It doesn't hurt but now my gums are really swollen from when they put them back on. I have already come out of pocket SO much and know I will have to pay a ton more still. This blows, can I just have dentures?

Last night

Leiland woke at 2am to eat, but was pretty awake even when finished. It took me putting him back in the crib 3 times before he stayed asleep. The second time he even sat himself up - when I went to get him he seemed so confused. Good thing we moved down his mattress the other day.

Growing so fast

Its hitting me how fast Leiland is growing. His crawing is getting faster and farther by the day. He will actually crawl to me, instead of crying for me. We installed a baby gate last night at the top of the stairs which is crazy to me. We also moved his mattress down so he doesn't fall out. Now that he is crawling he goes to the couch or any other location just to stand up. THis however leads to numerous falls. He wants to walk, but he can't. Still no teeth, but I expect maybe in the next month we should have one. I also think he will be walking around 10 months, he is getting so good with his balance and coordination. He isn't talking a whole lot, I think he is more concerned with walking and crawling. He still babbles and squeals but not really trying any words at this point.

Sick again

I can't believe Leiland and i are sick again. It started with me a couple days ago and Leiland wasn't far behind. The last two nights i had to sleep holding Leiland so he could breath. Today he can finally breath enough to nurse. He has no interest in eating though. I hope he feels better soon. Ive been using saline and suction many times a day as well as boogie wipes to help his nose from chapping. He doesn't like it but he does pretty well letting me suction. He fights the saline though.

Just praying this boy feels better soon and can sleep well tonight.

Proud mama here

Oh my goodness, I don't think I have been this proud since the day Leiland was born. He is finally crawling. He is slow, but he is totally doing it, on hands and knees.

So since early December he has been able to get on all 4's. He prefers to do this from sitting then from laying down, and had been moving his hands. The problem was when he tried to move his little legs, his knees went out behind him. When we were on hard floors (bathroom and kitchen) he was starting to make some movement forward. If what he wanted was too far he wouldn't bother, if it was too close, he would move hands a little then lunge for it. The past week he has been taking 1-2 "steps" crawling before lunging. Today he totally started doing it. I am so proud I can't even say. He was tired and cranky, but I was able to catch part of it on camera.

After the video we moved him to the carpet with the shoes, and he did it again. He has always had a harder time on the carpet. But he did it. Then I took the dirty shoes away and he got mad, so I reached for him, and he started crawling towards me. YEAH LEILAND!!!!!! So proud.

Its really cute to me to watch because when he moves, he almost slides his body. I am betting in 2-3 weeks he will be going everywhere. Now he just needs to connect the dots that he can get to all 4's from laying on his belly, then we are in trouble.

Leiland....

You're the best happiness I've ever known

New tricks

Leiland has been practicing, but I think he finally gets it. Now he can clap and wave. Its so stinking cute.

Amazing day

Today was such a special day for me as a mom. There was nothing out of the ordinary it was just a regular day with me and my boy. But it felt different. he woke in the happiest mood has ever been in, and I was overflowing with love for him. I just wanted to kiss and cuddle him nonstop today. He got a little cranky through the day and a little clingy - but none of it bothered me. I was so happy to just hold him. This evening he wasn't falling asleep too easily, so he nursed 3 different times and I could just stare at his beautiful face. I love my little boy with all my heart, and I am so grateful he has blessed our lives so much at this point.

First period

If you wont want to hear in depth about my period,  move beyond this post.

So, at exactly 8 months and 4 days, my first period has arrived. My postpartum bleeding lasted about 5 1/2 weeks which felt like forever. So far this period isn't nearly as terrible as everyone made it out to be. I had horribly painful periods before having a baby, so I expected the same, but so far this has been lighter and much less cramping. It started out very brown but moved right into a regular red cycle. Hopefully it doesn't last to long, and continues to be normal. At least now I can watch my cycles and try to see if I am ovulating again or what.

Agh, its crazy.

I'm also interested in trying the dia cup, but I am honestly a little scared.

First word

Leiland finally said his first word, and I am so proud of him. He has said the d sound for sometime, but today he finally made the connection. This morning he said da while looking at the dogs, so I replied doggie? And he got so excited. Then this evening he kept saying it, and was saying it more then once or twice. When I would reply dada, again I was given the super excited reaction. I finally grabbed the camera and he did it again. He knows who dada is too, so its adorable seeing him make that connection.

YEAH, 8 months and 1 day old - first word - dada

8 month update

Holy cow i thought last month flew, where did this month end up? Leiland is 8 months old and growing so big. He is still in 12m clothes but some are getting small. Still no crawling, no teeth, and no words. He is determined to make me wait. He is balancing much better when standing these days but doesn't try to pull up as much as he had been. He yells and fusses till you go stand him up. If i stand him at the couch he will walk around it pretty well however he forgets he cant walk. He uses both hands to play when standing and even lets go of things. If im sitting he will try to get to me and forget he can't walk. Its funny to me most times.
Right now he isn't eating much in terms of solids because he had been sick. Although he is letting me spoon feed purees again and he is trying to use his spoon. He is sleeping a little better waking usually once a night. We are working on that and falling asleep better.
His favorite toys are his fisher price jungle because he can stand, the activity table and its rattling phone, stuffed animals, and his bear rug. He is also completely smitten with daddy. If he is around he is full of grins and laughs. So not fair. But im happy he loves his daddy. He is the same ebony these days. He gets so giddy to see and pet ebony.
So 8 months old and no talking but he does scream, squeal, and babble. I love when he says blah blah blah and lalala. He says mmm but not mamama and he says ada but not dadada. I think we both excited for him to make the connection and say a word.

This happens when he tries to crawl, he gets on all 4 from sitting and when he pushes his knees always slide out from behind him. Poor guy, he has been trying forever and just isn't going anywhere. He has been getting on all 4 and rocking for over a month now. You can do it Leiland!!!

Oh boy

We have a daredevil. Today i bought Leiland a used walking standing toy. I let him stand with it and he didn't try to walk so i locked the wheels and let him explore.  Then we unlocked it again and he let it move forward and back but held on tight. Then when he got brave he let go for about 3 seconds. Holy crap. Then de dis it standing at the tub and even sidestepped along the tub.

Growing so fast.

Sick baby

My poor baby is sick. I woke to his fussing at 3 am and when i went to pick him up he was covered in puke. When i went to change him he puked a bunch more. So he got a bath and new jammies. I brought him down to rock and he dryheaved followed by puking twice more. I rocked him back to sleep after he dryheaved then again after he puked. He slept then till 730 when he woke hungry with a fever. Poor thing.  We cuddled a lot today and he fell asleep in his swing. I took him to his crib and he ended up napping for 3 hours and 45 minutes. He woke up so happy too. I wish he slept that great every day. He ate some mango but otherwise wasn't interested in food. Hopefully he has a good nights sleep and feels better tomorrow.
