So first we moved and sleep was disturbed.
I worked with Leiland and got him sleeping again.
Then he broke his arm and sleep was disturbed again.
Once the cast was off we got close to back to normal.
Then we went to Georgia for 10 days and sleep got all out of whack again.
Last night I was determined to get back to normal. Leiland only wanted downstairs or to rock to sleep. As much as I love rocking him to sleep, he sleeps better when he puts himself to bed. He was tired last night so we did our usual routine. Dinner, bath, teeth, Jammie's, books, songs, then bed. He cried instantly. I left him for a few minutes and he just cried. I went in and rocked him a little then put him back to bed, big cries again. I rocked him once more till close to sleep and he freaked as soon as I laid him down again. I tried rubbing his back and he fraught me so I stepped out again. He finally calmed and went to sleep. But he woke up around 4 I think and I rocked him. we slept in the chair with him tossing off and on never filling getting into a deep sleep till 730.
Today we were gone till nap and he had fallen asleep in the car and woke when I tried to transfer him. He then was cranky on such little sleep. Early bedtime didn't happen so he went right to bed. Tonight however he laid right down and went to sleep. I'm praying this means we are going back to sleeping better again.

Sleep Update
Sleep has been rough lately. Just before Leilands birthday he got sick with a cold that lasted 3 weeks. Then he had the stomach virus. During this his sleep got messed. When sick he would wake usually once, and I just rocked him for a few. Then after the virus he wasn't eating much, but wanted to nurse ALL NIGHT LONG. Not working for me. After he started eating better during the day I had to stop this. It took a night of just letting him cry. He woke 3 times that night and I went to comfort him each time, but when he was asking to nurse, I just laid him in his crib. The next day he took a 3 hour nap. Now he has stopped crying at night and is napping 1 time a day for 3 hours at a time. Works great for me. So I am not sure if it was a typical 1 year old sleep regression or being sick - maybe a combination but I hope this sticks again because I need my sleep.He was also crying more when I put him to sleep but now he is no longer fussing when I put him down to nap or go to bed. YAY for this big boy.
CIO Whatever day
Im not really sure what day we are on.
2 nights ago I had to nurse Leiland at 430 because he didn't eat much the day prior, but then he slept till 9am. Last night I didn't nurse him and when rocking him he wouldn't settle so I put him in the crib and cried off and on for about 8 minutes before going to sleep. He slept till 8 this morning.
We are on nap #1 this morning and because he didn't nurse last night he ate first thing, then had some breakfast. He was fussing because he is tired so I took him to bed, no nursing or rocking, laid him down, started his sea horse, and he fussed less then 5 minutes and went to sleep. He didn't even sit up in the crib.
THIS is an amazing step, he is getting it. I am so proud of him.

CIO day 2 and 3
Yesterday we only did 1 nap at home. Leiland took a 2 hour nap after nursing without much fuss. Then we had to leave so i woke him to go to our playdate. He then slept the whole hour car drive.
Today his first nap took an hour to get hin down and i had to rock him the last 5 minutes. He slept 2 hours. The second nap i nursed but stopped when he started falling asleep. He was upset but i put him in his bed. 3 to 5 minutes of crying and he went to sleep. He slept an hour and 45 minutes.
Now we're nursing before bed and hopefully tonight goes well.
CIO Day 1
what? You say we already did CIO day 1? Well we had to stop and are starting over. He was teething too bad to let him CIO before. But that bottom tooth is through and now we are still working on the top two, but he is doing better.
So, I didn't really decide to was going to be day 1 till I went up to lay him in bed. I had already nursed him and he was sleeping good. When I moved him to burp him I smelled he had pooped, so I had to change him which woke him of course, but not too awake. However when I went to lay him in bed he was looking all around. First I laid him down and walked out, but he just sat up, so I went back and held him for a minute. I then laid him back down and rubbed him hair and back to calm him, but he kept crying. So I kept rubbing. He would have been down a little before he was but the cat came in and jumped in his crib. Loser. So I had to toss him and that started Leiland. SO I kept rubbing. It took about 25 minutes total but he did fall asleep. We will see how well I do during the night.

CIO day 2 and 3
Yesterday we were gone all day so Leiland napped for an hour twice in the car. At bedtime he nursed and went to bed with little fuss. But i was up 3 or 4 times before putting him in my bed to nurse because we were exhausted. And he was up by 630.
Today i tried but no matter how hard i tried he wouldn't sleep. In the hour i tried i went in every 5 minutes, kept having to lay him down, then he pooped so i had to change him. Put him back in the crib and he freaked. He needed to burp once and spit up once. When it was time to nurse he crashed so i put him in the crib and he woke after 35 minutes still exhausted. We played a little then nursed and slept on me for an hour and a half.
Just like everytime i try day 1 is hood then it gets so much worse.
Crying it out - Day 1
So we gave it a go. Leiland's sleeping has gotten really bad and we are all struggling to be pleasant on such little sleep.
Today Leiland started getting tired about 9:30 so we went for a walk to get Leiland to relax. I am not sure what to do as a naptime routine. So after our walk he was very calm and obciously ready for sleep. He wanted to play though. He hadn't nursed yet so I nursed him and he fell asleep. I took him to the crib and he woke up as usual. I tried to calm him and it just wasn't doing anything. So I stepped out for a few minutes at a time and went back in. A couple times I would rock him but he wouldn't settle or just wanted to play, so he went back to the crib. After about 45 minutes he kept standing so I would go lay him back down. I sat and rubbed him to calm him which worked and I rubbed his cheeks with his soft blanket. Once calm I walked out and he cried but didn't stand up. He rolled over and cried off and on for about 10-15 minutes and went to sleep. He slept for 2 hours.
Nighttime came and I nursed him as usual but stopped him after 15-20 minutes and burped him. Took him up to the crib which made him freak out as I expected. I came downstairs for 5 minutes and he sat on his knees crying for the whole time. I went in and laid him down and rubbed his belly, head, legs, and cheeks to calm him. Once calm I walked out (he was holding his teddy) and he cried the loudest. But within a few minutes he stopped crying and went to sleep. He woke 20 minutes later and whimpered for a minute but went back to sleep. Hoping this is a good sign.
