New Years Resolution

I have so many things I want to accomplish this year, but the main resolution is to get Leiland to sleep better. I realize there are no promises, however I have to try something. We did so good at first, but his daytime naps have gone down hill since about 1 month. Nothing I do seems to help. I previously tried reading through all of the book "The no cry sleep solution" but just didn't have spare time to read. I was also thinking about video recording as I go through it. When I started I really wanted to hear what to do because my lack of time to read.

So, this is my resolution. I have it planned out like this.

January - read the book and takes notes for reference
February - fill out charts and begin trying practices as well as observing him
March - note progress

We will see how he does. I truly hope to get some answers.

Sweet boy

Leiland is so sweet. He is really drawn to ebony lately. Today he rested his head on her eith one hand petting her. So sweet.

Merry Christmas

I can't believe it was my baby's first Christmas. I am so happy he is old enough to enjoy it somewhat, and he loved getting all these new fun toys. He didn't exactly open any, but was happy to play with them. We destroyed the living room with wrapping paper, cardboard boxes, and all these fun new items. Diner was a whole chicken, wonderful mashed potatoes (made in my new kitchen aid), corn, rolls, and gravy. So delicious but Leiland didn't enjoy the potatoes as much as last time, but he was tired too.

Watching him learn

I love watching Leiland learn. Its so great to see it happen before your eyes and watch him connect the dots. He is trying so hard to crawl but hasn't quite made the full connection. However everytime he gets his hands onto something new, he hits or bangs it to hear what noises it makes. Its so cute. I love it, except when he does it with my hair, that just plain hurts. He is so sweet to observe, but if I am too close, he just wants to climb on my. He things anything he can get his hands on must be a tool to help him stand. My hair, shirt, legs, body, the dogs, a stool, and even a stuffed bear head to a blanket. Didn't you know a stuffed animal is a standing tool? But he is getting stronger. He no longer just straightens his legs to stand, and he can get up onto his knees within seconds now. He is still learning to get from knees to his feet though. He also rolls everywhere, pivits in a complete circle with no thought, rolls where he wants, scoots slightly on his bum, and goes from sitting to all 4s when his leg doesn't get stuck. He is trying SO hard.

Santa

Today we went to Bass Pro Shops to see the free Santa. He was a good santa too. Here are the pics from the day. Leiland wasn't scared just interested.

Sweet potatoes were another hige hit, he ate a wedge and left only parts of the skin, then devoured a few more bites of another wedge. Thats my boy

Mango

Mango is likely the biggest hit for this boy, he was NOT letting it go.

Christmas Teething Biscuits

Leilands Christmas Cookie teething biscuits. I decided to use the Christmas cookie cutters I used to make out cookies, and they are so stinkin cute. I added bananas to them and hope he likes the flavor.

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup dry infant rice cereal (lavored or unflavored infant cereal)
3 tablespoons cooking oil
ice water
3 ice cubes bananas

Directions:
Preheat oven 425F
Mix flour and cereal.
Gradually stir in oil. Mix a little ice water at a time (start with 1/4 cup) until dough begins to form a ball and pull away from the bowl.
Roll out to the thickness of a cracker on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 min. or until lightly brown. Cool completely.

Store in an airtight container. (you may want to try 1/2 plain and 1/2 flavored baby cereal as the taste when using full flavored baby cereal is very strong.) Let cool before storing

5 days

Only 5 days till we celebrate Leilands very first Christmas. Can you believe it? I've waited so long for this and it's finally here. I wonder if he will open gifts? He already goes nuts over wrapping paper and is starting to show interest the tree. Im going to miss it when its gone.
I still need to photograph the lights outside and find Tim something to wear for Christmas.  Im getting excited.

Mashed Potatoes

Yes please.

His first reaction was confusion and dislike, but he actually started opening up for these, then I just let him play, and he was putting every bite in his mouth. My kid like Mashed potatoes? No way. Shocker.

Trying to crawl

Leiland is trying SO hard to crawl, he now rolls everywhere and to things he sees and wants. He rolls to the tile and learned he can move easier there, but he always goes backwards on the tile. When tired that just makes him mad.

Pushed until he was stuck on the wall, but didn't mind because music was on tv
